Résidence - Lion D'or

In winter, there is skiing directly into the village, making Les Gets an excellent choice for families. The village is at 1172 m and with its battery of snow cannons, has a snow record which is the envy of many a resort. Ski and boarding schools meet close by in the centre of the village at the bottom of the Chavannes lifts.

However, if you’re looking for skiing adventures, the vast Portes du Soleil ski area is right on your doorstep. With approximately 650 km of ski terrain available, you can easily clock-up an impressive daily mileage in two countries, France and Switzerland, with skiing up to 2466 m. At night, there's floodlight skiing right into the village.

The scenery is tremendous and you'll enjoy panoramic views of some of the highest mountains in Europe, including Mont Blanc.

For non-skiers, there are lovely walks on numerous cleared paths and many excellent mountain restaurants are accessible either on foot or by ski lift.

Cross-country skiing is at high altitude at the middle station of the Mont Chéry bubble and along the ridge from Chavannes on the other side of the valley.

Down in the village centre, there's an ice skating rink with blades available for hire, a cinema, bowling alley and even a mechanical music museum.

In summer, Les Gets is transformed into an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. Mountain bikers will find 120 km of signposted routes (580km across the Portes du Soleil) including a downhill run which has already hosted 6 World Cup downhills. Golfing aficionados will love the 18-hole course which is surrounded by pine trees and unforgettable views of Mont Blanc.

The beautiful Alpine lake is warmed by the sun to 22°C in the summer and there are opportunities for the more adventurous to experience white-water rafting, canyoning - where you’ll be able to abseil, swim and walk down a river - rock climbing, glacier walking, donkey trekking, paragliding or micro-light flying.
